Professional Practice

Professional Practice Model (PPM)

Our Professional Practice Model for Nursing is based on The Synergy Model for Patient Care, developed by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. The core concept of our model includes practicing in a Health Work Environment, while matching the needs of our patients with the strengths of our nurses, results in the best outcomes and experiences for our patients, families and nursing staff.

Nursing accountability, autonomy and authority are woven into our practice, representing the interdependence of all parts of the model and the creation of synergistic and holistic care.

Clinical Nurse Achievement Program

In 2017, our Professional Development Council, in collaboration with Clinical Nurses, Human Resources partners, Compensation experts and Executive Leaders, developed the Clinical Nurse Achievement Program for Professional Development.  This program is aimed at inspiring continuous development and rewarding professional growth. Nurses demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, professional accountability and autonomous clinical practice through participation in this program, and our goal is to recognize these contributions to Children’s Health and the entire profession of nursing.
